What is Cloud Security Posture Management?
Also known as: CSPM
Cloud security posture management is the continuous monitoring of cloud environments to detect misconfigurations, policy violations, and compliance gaps across services and accounts. It matters because misconfigured cloud resources, such as publicly exposed storage, are a leading cause of cloud data exposure.
Example
A CSPM tool flags a storage bucket that was set to public and alerts the team to restrict access before data is exposed.
